The Side You Don't See
BURNOUT
It’s real. And as much as we may try to convince ourselves that we are some form of super human immune from the feeling, we all find ourselves feeling it at times.
Burnout is not supposed to be a seasonal feeling that re-appears consistently. It is supposed to be a lesson that we learn from and make impactful edits to our life to avoid that feeling from occurring.
But when we don’t see burnout as a lesson, we don’t make changes needed for it to stop long term.
Nothing changes if nothing changes.
I’m not sure who may also feel this, but I often get a sense of pride (ego fuel lol), when someone compliments how impressed they are by my crazy busy “how does she do it” schedule. It’s nice to hear that your grind is being recognized and appreciated.
But the side people don’t see are the moments of breakdown and emotion. The fatigue and exhaustion. And the hardest part for me, the conversations between my close friends and family saying that they never see me enough because I am so busy.
Now that sh*t is real!
I don’t want to hustle so hard that when it’s time to look back at what I’ve done, there is no one standing there with me.
So here is where I’m at…
I’ve begun saying no to more and taking things off my calendar. I am on the path to burning out Burnout.
I hope this serves as a reminder that not everything you see on social media is real and that finding balance is truly the key.
